Rikke grew up on a farm in the heart of Jylland, Denmark, as the oldest of four siblings. and is passionate about ensuring that all people, regardless of gender, religious belief, sexual orientation, etc., enjoy equal rights and can make their voice heard.
She has experience with project management, and is a project advisor at the Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD). Before recently moving back to Denmark she lived in Ghana and Uganda for a number of years, where she did a lot of work on the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among other things as the SDG Coordination Specialist at the Office of the Prime Minister in Uganda (seconded by UNDP) and as the Coordinator for the CSO Platform on SDGs in Ghana. Previous to this she was a Programme Officer at the Media Foundation for West Africa, based in Ghana. In addition to her working experience she is an active volunteer, currently as project advisor in the Danish Refugee Council and has held position of trust, hereunder as a member of the National Technical Steering Committee on the Post-2015 Development Agenda in Ghana.
Rikke holds a master in Political Science from Aarhus University, and has a Journalism Degree for University Graduates.
