At She for She we had one big Christmas wish this year 🌟 To normalize menstruation. Not an easy task, not one done overnight, and not one to be done without help. Luckily there are many great people out there who share our wish, and who were willing to help us 💞 For this fourth and last She for She Christmas Sunday, the help came from amazing Laura Takahashi Christiansen aka @laurahjertefryd crocheted these lovely potholders shaped like pads for us for free 🩸 You will find her pattern below 🧶
🧶Why crochet potholders looking like pads?🧶
What’s the point? Will potholders normalize menstruation? No, not alone. Unfortunately there is still a long way to go in order to normalize periods, but we need powerful people like Laura who wants to make a difference, we need to help each other to make some noise, get creative (we need to help each other to make some noise and to get creative). We need to talk about periods.
This is why we at SheforShe do what we do. This is why we do not only supply Ugandan girls and women with pads, but why we also educate boys and girls about menstruation💪🧠We shouldn’t hide our periods, periods should not stop anybody from doing anything!🩸
